This is 2005 graduate, Nikki Abramson. Nikki began her ISM journey in 1992 in Kindergarten.
Nikki said that ISM was the most rewarding place for her education. She feels as though there is no other place like ISM out there. She had great relationships with teachers who helped her find her writer’s voice which came in handy when writing two books as well as a one person show called No Limits that later in her career. When at ISM, Nikki was the Head Prefect for the Lower School department. She believes that holding that position allowed her to develop her leadership skills, ability to work in a team setting, lead meetings, and make decisions.
Another skill she took away from ISM was her ability to feel comfortable performing on stage. Mrs. Everitt, ISM’s former Theater Director, gave Nikki the opportunity to grow in her performance skills and eventually find a career in performing and directing later in life. Nikki currently teaches theater to youth through many facets and enjoys teaching the arts specifically to children and adults with special needs.
Nikki has done various things in her career, but she sttributes her ability to venture on and seek those opportunities came from her foundation of the ISM education. She learned to never give up and to keep working toward her end goals. She has worked as an educator, director, and author. Nikki is just one example of how our students gain key skills and knowledge to build the foundation for lifetime learning.
