ISM 4th grader Wins USAG States 2017

On December 9, 2017, at the Warner Coliseum at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds, ISM 4th grader, Morgan, won the USAG Gymnastics State L4 Championship. Morgan placed 1st in the 9 year old division for USAG Level 4 gymnasts, and 1st over all age groups, beating out over 100 other competitors. Her team, Legacy Gymnastics placed 2nd, after powerhouse & Olympics training ground, Twin City Twisters, losing 1st place by only .5 points!

While gymnasts are judged individually, it is very much a team sport! Training 16-20 hours every week, the teammates are more than teammates, they are like family and provide much needed support in good times and bad. Legacy lives by the maxim T.E.A.M...Together Everyone Achieves More.

To paraphrase Nelson Mandela, "True winners are not those that never fail, but those who get back up after failure."  In those moments when a gymnasts may fall off the beam or bars, stumble on floor routine or trip while doing vault, which Morgan has done, the teammates' voices yelling, "you can do it" or "you got this" provide comfort and impetus for the gymnasts to keep going!

Morgan’s parents thank ISM for all the support in allowing her to leave early at times or miss events. Morgan is equally committed to education as she is gymnastics and promised to maintain her A average along with training 20 hours a week. She kept her promise!

Way to go Morgan!  ISM is very proud of your hard work and perseverance.Morgan lands
