The International School of Minnesota Earns Highest Level of Distinction from the AP® School Honor Roll
The International School of Minnesota (ISM) is proud to announce that it has earned a Platinum badge on the 2023 AP® School Honor Roll, the highest level of distinction. This recognition by the College Board exemplifies our dedication to a college-preparatory education by delivering results and broadening access for students.
Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on their ability to increase their school’s college-going culture, provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximize college readiness. The AP® School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
“We are thrilled to receive the recognition," said Diana Abdel Samad, Regional Academic Director. “The SABIS® curriculum is designed to prepare students for success in Advanced Placement exams. As early as Middle School, students can challenge themselves by taking advanced or honors courses, which set them up on the correct path to ace AP® exams.”
ISM has developed a robust AP® program that gives students a variety of opportunities to earn college credit. ISM students have an advantage because they can take multiple AP® courses in their schedules due to the personalized scheduling offered. Currently, 18 AP® courses are offered at ISM, and of those, our students are able to complete up to 13 AP® courses by graduation.
“Taking any AP® class requires a lot of time and effort for students, and taking multiple AP® classes in a single year is a huge undertaking. I am so incredibly proud of our AP® Scholars who successfully took these courses and earned so many fives and fours across various content areas. As a counselor, this gives me confidence that our students will not only truly thrive in college, they will also pursue their dreams beyond ISM,” stated Zachary Cohen, Director of College Counseling.
2023 AP® Exams at ISM:
- 100% of seniors took at least one AP® exam during High School
- 100% of seniors scored a three or higher on at least one AP® exam
- 50% of seniors took five or more AP® exams
