Husky Athletics Expands with the Addition of Boys Volleyball
The International School of Minnesota (ISM) is thrilled to announce Husky Athletics' newest sports team with the addition of Boys Volleyball. Enthusiasm for the sport is high and ISM quickly filled up both JV and varsity teams with a co-op of 13 students from ISM, eight students from Chesterton Academy, two students from Heritage Christian Academy, and one student from Providence Academy. The goal for this latest addition is to “give our players the best possible experience where they can be challenged, learn what it takes to win and grow their commitment and passion for volleyball” says De Hanuman, Athletic Director at ISM.
As for the teams' coaches, ISM is lucky to have retained quality coaches who care deeply about the well-being of our student-athletes. Mr. Hanuman shares, “We wanted coaches who genuinely showed interest in developing each student for lifelong learning and would help these young adults become better athletes and people. Secondly, we wanted coaches who would challenge each player to dive deeper into the knowledge of the game while also pushing them to work as hard as possible. These coaches preach commitment and have set high expectations for this year and for many years to come.”

Head Coach, Amber Kansou – Entering her first year as Boys Head Volleyball Coach, Amber shares her passion for the game with our players with an extensive playing career in high school, club and college volleyball and multiple years of coaching. She takes the time to teach fundamentals, and is also developing a lower school program to get interest in the game starting at an earlier age. She has a vast range of experience coaching girls starting in middle school up to men’s college club volleyball. Amber has coached the ISM girl’s volleyball team for the past two years along with Joel Carufel.
